Testimonials - Prostate Cancer Treatment

1) "I had 25 radiation treatments late 2005 and seed implants Feb 2006. I had some discharge over a period of time, but no ill effects. Later I seemed to have to urinate quite often, however I am taking Detrol LA and that has really helped. My PSA has been below 0.2 after being 7.0 pretreatment. With the radiation and seed implants I have to take viagra for erections. This does not work all the time, however I can live with this and it is much better than the alternative of no treatment!

2) "You're new cancer center was impressive and pleasant. The professional staff there was outstanding and made the whole experience so much easier to handle. Thanks to ALL!"

3) "December 2005 It was found that I had prostate cancer. I've had 6 month PSA Tests for a number of years and the Doctor caught it before it became to severe. Early in the year 2006 I took a month of radiation treatment and a little later the prostate seed implant. It worked very well and two years later I have no trace of cancer. My PSA reads next to nothing. I still continue my 6 month checkups."

4) Dear Dr Echt,
"I graciously thank you and your entire staff, medical and billing. When I walked into the lobby of your office at Medical City, I was scared, worried and uncertain on what to do. You and your staff put my mind and heart at ease within about fifteen minutes. This was in the early winter of 2003 just before Christmas. I went from a grim outlook on the rest of my life to a positive one. Still positive to this day Wednesday October 10, 2007. I received my last PSA Test October 4, 2007 with a report on October 8, 2007 of being normal at 1.1 PSA. Thank you again Sir, Dr. Echt "

5) "I am very happy with the results of the seed implant procedure. I would recommend it to others. One of my best friends is having the prostate freeze procedure done today. His cancer was to far along for the seed implant he was told by the Dr doing the procedure. I highly recommend the seed implant to anyone who is a good candidate."

6) "Dr Echt gave all the information and assurance I needed for prostate seeding. The process caused me no pain after awakening from the process. I appreciate the follow-up efforts of Dr Echt and his staff. I have no suggestions for how it could have gone better".

7) "Very, very satisfied and happy with my decision to go the implant seed route! Simple, painless and effective..... the outstanding choice in my opinion. I would only go with another type of procedure if implants were not available for my prostate situation. Very pleased and I recommend this technique highly."

8) "The surgery went very well. I followed all the instructions and the results were as stipulated by Dr Echt. I only had urination pain for about one week to a week and a half. My sexual desire and passion remained the same as before the operation. The ejaculate was about the same but the erection was non-existent. Months later, I began a come back and today with the aid of Cealis every third day I'm beginning my ascent back to normalicy. But what matters is that I'm alive, praise God and Dr. Echt".

9 ) "Three years after my procedure, my PSA result was nil <.10. Also, no lasting side effects. I have been fortunate."

10) "It has been almost 3 years since my prostate seed implant and I can say I have been very pleased with my results. I have not had any problems at all with my implant."

11) "It's been two years since I've had the seed implants and treatment. I am completely well and happy. When I started treatment, my PSA was at .14. The latest visit to my Urologist (August 2007) my PSA was 0.1. You can't ask for anything better than that, thanks to Dr Echt and Dr Sahid."

12) "The prostate cancer was discovered in November 2003. It was considered "Aggressive", which brought much anxiety. The anxiety subsided when it was determined to be contained within the gland. I elected to have seed implants which was done in late November 2003. After a short period of healing I took 25 rounds of radiation. What was left of the gland was virtually destroyed. PSA level was zero and some inconsistency and major impotence existed. PSA level after 4 years has risen slowly and is now at 1.2 and is monitored every 4 months. Through it all I was off work 3 - 4 days and never felt any real pain. I am age 72 and most grateful the procedure was available to extend my life."

13) "Dr Echt's entire staff wer exceptional in how they treated us. This attitude and positive atmosphere made a big difference in how I felt about my disease."

14) "I was very satisfied with my outcome. The staff and Doctor were all knowledable and helpful. I would recommend the Institute and procedure to a friend or family member."

15) "It's very scary to hear for the first time "you have prostate cancer"...but I give thanks for doctors like Dr Echt who reasure you that you are not alone. There are thousands of men like myself who have been implanted with these pelets. It's a simple and fast process. It's definitely painful for the first few days but I would recommend this to my son or any dear friend. I have been cancer free for "Five Years"! now and look forward to many more years."

21) "I had the prostate reamed out about 20 years before the seed implants. I had a lot of pain and downtime before I got over the surgery with three days in the hospital. After my positive test for prostate cancer the implants took about three hours and I went home with no downtime or pain. Now after four years I test OK."

22) "In 2003 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, 30% and PSA was 7.4. After consultation with my Family Doctor and Urologist, I selected seed implant over surgery, chemotherapy or a do nothing attitude. Now four years later I am cancer free with a PSA of 0.1. I can't thank Dr Echt enough for his excellent treatment."

23) 'I had resigned and decided to have a radical prostatectomy based on the choices provided by a physician who diagnosed my prostate cancer. My family history included numerous relatives with prostate cancer, including some deaths, so I did not want to take unnecessary risks. My daughter is an E.R. Physician and she recommended that I get a second opinion from Dr Dan McBride. Dr McBride recommended Dr. Echt. We were very pleased with the preparation, treatment, follow-up and results of the therapy. Dr Echt's staff was very helpful and supportive working through the insurance issues. I continue to get favorable PSA test results each year. I have recommended Dr. Echt to several of my friends."

24) "Dr Echt performed prostate seed implants on me in August 2006. I have been well pleased with this procedure. The results have been great. I am doing great. My PSA has gone down from 6.1 to 0.7. I also have been well pleased with the follow-up visits to your office. Thank you very much."

25) "Excellent results - no complications and my latest PSA result is 0.18. I couldn't be more pleased with the procedure and the subsequent outcome! Dr Echt is to be commended for his expertise and his personal way with the patients. He seems truly interested and concerned and an excellent communicator!"

26) "The implant procedure was done on April 28, 2006. As of October 11, 2007 all seems to be going well. Now I go to see my local Doctor once a year. No major discomfort or problems. Thank you Dr Echt."

27) "I strongly recommend the radio active treatment for prostate cancer. Thanks to the DFW Urology consultants and Dr Hey for their referral to Dr Echt I am cancer free. My last serveral PSA results were .01. Early detection is the key. Dr Hey has been my urologist for many years and monitored me every 90 days. His immediate referral to Dr Echt made possible the radio active pellet procedure and continued PSA of .01. My heart felt thanks to Dr Hey and Dr Echt. You saved my life. Pellet insertion was a breeze and I strongly recommend it."

28) "My Physical revealed my PSA was elevated and I should visit with a urologist. My urologist confirmed I had prostate cancer and we discussed my options. I selected prostate seed implants with Dr Echt. Dr Echt is a very bright professional physician and operation was a quick painless day surgery. I have been a prostate cancer survivor for four years."

29) "The treatment is working after three years and I have no problems."

30 ) "Thank you Dr Echt for the successful medical seed implant procedure. For your records, I had my PSA checked on August 23rd, 2007 and it is now 1.2."

31) "When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer I had no idea what to do. Dr. Echt explained the option and suggested that brachytherapy would be the best way. I found that this procedure allowed me to return to work in a short time and offered less complications then surgery. After four months my PSA was <.0. I was very satisfied with the results."

32) "My seeding was done five years ago in January. I continue to take PSA tests every six months and it continues to go down. I can't remember the last number but I know it was less than the previous test. Everyone has to consider the various treatments available and then have faith in their Urologist and Oncologist when they make their decision. I believe I made the right decision and am here five years later to tell you about it. I had the seeding done at age 69."

33) "I was very pleased with the treatment that I was given by Dr. Echt. His office staff was wonderful. Thank you so much for your kindness and caring."

34) "I had external beam radiation follwed by seed implant four years ago. I can describe my experience at worst as "some discomfort". Some discomfort still exists at times, albeit significantly reduced. My PSA at diagnosis was only 4.0. My latest reading in July 2007 was <0.1. Overall, I describe my experience as "surprisingly mild" considering the alternative. I strongly recommend men monitor their PSA and not at all fear negative results or the potential for worst case malignancy and necessary treatment as I received it. I am free to discuss my experience with any and all. Dr Echt's office in coordination with my urologist Dr Kurt Evans, has been extraordinary in all aspects."

35) "The seed implants were successful. Of all the symtoms I had, only a slight urgency remains. I'm very satisfied with Dr Echt."

36) "I have been doing well. Good bladder control with Ditropan 10mg/day. Viagra 100mg has helped E.D. PSA has been 0.3 to 0.5 for the past three years."

37) "Dr Echt and his staff led me down a very structured path reassuring me every step of the way that I was on a treatment plan that was right for me. They were right and I am forever thankful. Dr Echt always communicated in a very clear and direct way that lefrt little doubt about the desired outcome. It was also a pleasure to work with Rita and Bill as well.....true professionals."

38) "I had eight biopsies over fifteen years. My PSA went to 15.5 then we found the cancer. I had radiation and the seed implants. I am now completely cured. If I had it to do over I would do the same procedure."

40) "I had prostate seed implant last August 4th. Dr. Echt and his staff were wonderful in their care and treatment of my overall health, much less the treatment and favorable results of my prostate cancer. Always upbeat, they had smiles for me each and everyday and it made each visit that much easier to deal with daily. I am so grateful and thankful for their care and elimination of my prostate cancer."
